2013 GIRLS’ RUGBY GRANT RECIPIENT PLAY RUGBY USA ACADEMY – FROM THE BRONX TO THE EAGLES

The Foundation is pleased to award $1000 to Play Rugby USA Academy (PRUSA), From the Bronx to the Eagles program. USWRF feels this player development program makes significant contributions in girls’ rugby.

The funds were used to provide Denisse Zambon, Shamira Robles, and Gioanna Cruz, members of the Bronx Studio School for Writers and Artists Rugby Team and PRUSA Academy team, to participate in an internship program. The program is designed to foster both rugby and work experience, with the goal of creating cyclical giveback to the community, and opening pathways to higher education and elite competition.
