Why we love Caitlyne:
"I spent a lot of my childhood playing sports, but always feeling a pull for something deeper. When rugby came into my life in 2015, at the beginning of my twenties, it finally satisfied the desire I hadn’t realized I was searching for. Rugby has become my safe space to grow, not just as an athlete but also as a teammate, coach, official, and person. It has given me a chance to push myself to my limits, has introduced me to a family on and off the field, and has gifted me with a lifelong passion.
Starting as a player, I’ve worked my way into leadership roles like team selector, club officer, and soon coach for my local LAU team. Women’s rugby has impacted my life more profoundly than I could have imagined, and I’m looking forward to seeing what is to come for the sport. I hope to keep contributing by applying what I learn across my roles, playing, coaching, and officiating alongside amazing individuals, and passing on my knowledge to those around me. I hope all of the candidates nominated know they are all so deserving, and I’m so honored to be recognized alongside them."
